Pilgrimage to France

There will be a once in a lifetime pilgrimage to France from May 22 to June 2, 2011. Although this is not a ABCYA event, some friends have asked me to advertise it to our group. This pilgrimage includes stops at both religious and secular sites in places such as Paris, Lourdes, Nevers, Lisieux, and Tours, among others. If interested or for more information, visit www.canterburytours.com or contact me joe@abcya.org. FYI: This trip is listed on Canterbury's website to include hearing impaired persons, but it is open to hearing people as well.

New Faith Sharing Series October 21

On October 21 we will start a new Faith Sharing Series on the Gospel of Matthew. This series will focus on a video which will show the Gospel word for word acted out. We will then discuss the video and answer some faith sharing questions. The Gospel of Matthew while not the first Gospel written is unique in that it is the only Gospel written in Hebrew and directed to Jewish Christians. Matthew shows Jesus as the new Moses. He brings the Old Testament to fulfillment. Join us at 7:30pm on Thursday October 21. It seems like Thursday evenings are difficult for people to come.We have seen a significant drop in attendance. If you would be interested in holding Faith Sharing on another more convienient night contact me at aslan22918@aol.com.

MIRACLE OF CHRISTMAS AT SIGHT AND SOUND

With Advent approaching - yes it's almost that time - I thought it would be great to celebrate the Christmas season in a special way.

Sight and Sound theater in Lancaster, Pa. will soon be presenting The Miracle of Christmas. I am taking a poll as to whether anyone is interested in attending a production. Here is a possible date: Saturday, Dec. 11. Shows are 1, 4:15, and 7:30 p.m.

Tickets cost $55. ($52.25 for groups 15 and larger.)

If interested, please let me know at tom@abcya.org and I will organize. Given the distance, carpooling will be necessary.

(P.S: This event runs from Nov. 20 through the end of the year. The date is negotiable but I figure Saturdays are best and it's wise not to push too close to Christmas. If anyone suggests another date, let me know. But I can't do Saturdays Nov. 20 or Dec. 4.)
