In honor of the year of St. Paul held between June 29, 2008 and June 29, 2009 the Spirituality Component of ABCYA will help each of us to better understand and honor the Apostle to the Gentiles. What better way to honor Paul the Apostle than by attending Mass in a local church named in his honor. We will attend Mass at St. Paul's Church in Allentown on Susquehana Street on September 7, 2008 followed by breakfast or brunch at a local restaurant. The event begins at 10am. Hope to see you there.

Ever thought about going on a "missions" trip and wished they did not involve overseas travel or showering in a "temporary" facility? Here's your chance! The Word FM radio station is partnering with Life Builders for a day mission trip in Allentown on 9/20/08. This is not an ABCYA activity but if you are interested some members from the group are going. The link is below. From what we have seen this is similar to a Habitat for Humanity service function. There is a fee involved. If you want to go, register by 8/25 and pay $75 - this includes a tee shirt, meals, work site set up, and materials. The fee goes up to $100 on 8/26. (Much less $ than an overseas trip too!) No registrations are being taken after 9/6. There is a skills inventory to complete to assign functions that day so there is no guarantee of working together on specific tasks with other members but you are guaranteed that you will be working along side other Christians!
